Updates from Tweed Shire Council and Byron Shire Council (Monday 10 March)

INFORMATION FROM TWEED SHIRE COUNCIL

The Tweed Shire Council has provided an update regarding Waste Services, Water Services and Boil Water Alerts in the Tweed Shire.

‼️ Water services‼️

▪️ Whole of Tweed – Please conserve water. We are working around the clock to keep reservoirs filled, but many of our pump stations are now reliant on generators. We are also experiencing a large number of bursts which can drain our reservoirs very quickly.
▪️ We have restored water to all those areas without supply, however Bilambil Heights, Terranora and some parts of Banora Point, still remain on Boil Water Alerts. Tap water is still safe to drink in other suburbs.
▪️Our safe water refill station will be located at Bilambil Hall every day 8 am to 4 pm until power supply is restored to those on Boil Water Alerts.
⚠️ Boil Water Alerts remain in place for several days (for the suburbs listed above) as we need to guarantee the water is safe, and this will require rigorous testing and sampling in the area.
If you are out of water or experiencing poor water quality, please call us 24/7 on 02 6670 2400.
