Our Board of Directors
Our Board brings together a diverse group of experienced professionals who are committed to strong governance and the long-term sustainability of NRH.
With expertise across housing, community services, finance, law, strategy and social justice, our directors guide the organisation with integrity, accountability, and a deep understanding of the communities we serve. Their leadership ensures we continue to deliver safe, secure and affordable housing across the region, while building a future where everyone has a place to call home.

Robyn Hordern

Robyn is a long-term resident of the Far North Coast with extensive experience in small business, property development, maintenance, marketing, and local government. She has previously served as a Councillor for Ballina Shire, worked in State and Regional Development and supported entrepreneurs as a mentor with the Business Enterprise Centre.
Carolyn Parker

Carolyn brings 30 years experience in risk management and financial oversight of large-scale operations. Her corporate governance experience spans across national, state-wide and regional organisations in multiple sectors. As an experienced Chair of Audit and Risk Committees, she has a track record of guiding sustainable financial models, driving a safety culture and strategic stakeholder engagement. Carolyn joined the Board in May 2009.
Anders Halvorsen, OAM

Anders’ technical skills relate to management accounting across the business and corporate sector. Anders has an interest in high and low-level care facilities for the disabled and a strong commitment to community building. Anders is a long-term resident of Ballina.
Anders was awarded an Order of Australia Medal (General Division) in the 2021 Australia Day Honours List in recognition of his service to people with a disability and to the community. Anders joined the Board in July 2005.
Margaret Kaszo

Marg has 25 years of experience in the Community Housing Sector as a previous CEO of a regional housing association.
Her skills include community housing management and policy setting. As a previous Chair of the NSWFHA, she also brings a strong background in the development of the housing sector in NSW. Marg joined the Board in November 2016.

Phil brings extensive experience across both Government and private sectors, including senior leadership as a CEO of over 50 staff reporting to a Not-for-Profit Board.
His expertise spans facility management, service delivery strategy, capital investment and maintenance planning, asset and land acquisition and disposals, leased asset management, marketing and broad community engagement with Indigenous groups, local organisations and all levels of government. Phil joined the Board in November 2017.

Ari Soemardi is an accomplished executive leader with a diverse background in construction, corporate services, compliance and risk management and legal expertise.
As a qualified lawyer with a Master of Leadership from Deakin University, Ari brings over 15 years of experience in commercial construction and development, strategic planning, systems enablement and organisational transformation. Ari joined the Board in January 2025.
Simone Thompson

Simone is an experienced Director and Governance and Compliance Consultant, with over 20 years’ experience in governance, compliance and risk management in the financial services sector.
Simone has a keen interest in partnering with Australian companies transitioning capital towards investments that blend financial returns with authentic social and environmental impact. Simone joined the Board in January 2025.
