About NRH
About Us
At Northern Rivers Housing, we believe everyone deserves a place to call home.
Northern Rivers Housing (NRH) is a not-for-profit community housing provider committed to delivering safe, secure and affordable homes across the Northern Rivers region of NSW.
We are a Tier 1 Registered Community Housing Provider based in the Northern Rivers.
NRH is proud to be a Tier 1 registered community housing provider – the highest accreditation level under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH). This means we meet the strictest national standards in tenant outcomes, governance, financial sustainability, and risk management. Our Tier 1 status reflects our commitment to quality housing, responsible growth, and positive community impact.
Who We Are
We were established in 1984 as North Coast Community Housing (NCCH) to respond to rising housing needs in the region. In 2023, we became Northern Rivers Housing (NRH), a name that reflects our strong connection to the region and our focus on place-based housing solutions.
We’ve spent the last 40 years supporting people to access safe, secure homes and we continue to grow in response to our community’s needs.
What We Do
We currently manage over 1,700 tenancies – ranging from Tweed Heads to Clarence Valley – supporting individuals and families through a diverse range of programs including social housing, affordable housing, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and temporary accommodation / or other programs in collaboration with government agencies.
Who We Support
Our tenants and residents come from all walks of life and include older people, single parents, First Nations people, people living with disability, people escaping domestic violence, and people experiencing housing stress or who are at risk of homelessness. We are dedicated to supporting our tenants to live well and sustain their housing, while contributing positively to their communities.
Our Values
Our refreshed values were developed in collaboration with all NRH employees in 2024 as part of a shared commitment to who we are, how we work and what we stand for.
They reflect the voices of our team – from front line staff to leadership, and guide how we support tenants, work with partners and build strong communities across the Northern Rivers.
