Our Projects
At Northern Rivers Housing, we believe that resilient, affordable housing depends on sustainability and durability – creating stable foundations for the future.
That’s why our projects aim to provide homes built to last, designed with ecological mindfulness and deeply responsive to community needs.
Our modular New Generation Housing embraces quality, adaptability, and place-based design. We collaborate with like-minded, innovative partners who are experts in certified, energy efficient, long-lasting architecture and construction.
Our approach reimagines what community housing can be – combining quality, adaptability, and meaningful community consultation. Each project is shaped by place-based design to reflect the character and needs of the local area, creating spaces where people can truly feel at home.

Addressing the region’s pressing housing needs
Demand for social and affordable housing in Northern Rivers has outpaced the capacity of traditional construction methods, particularly as labour shortages, high material costs and delays have only worsened in the wake of severe flooding.
New Generation Housing offers a highly efficient, sustainable, and scalable approach. By incorporating contemporary modular construction techniques, this initiative removes common delays and barriers associated with on-site builds, providing a faster, more adaptable, long-term solution to meet the pressing demand.
View advantages of New Generation Housing for the Northern Rivers below.
Accelerated construction
With demand for social and affordable housing rising, efficiency is essential. Offsite construction ensures each home is built quickly and precisely, significantly reducing time to occupancy. Families can move into new homes sooner than would be possible with a traditional build, alleviating time and pressure on housing waitlists.
Advanced, climate-ready design
New Generation Housing uses offsite construction techniques and high-performing materials, such as insulated structural panels, combined with passive design principles, these homes are built to withstand the Northern Rivers challenging climate, offering robust resilience to weather events and more affordable cost of living.
High quality and consistency
Built in controlled, weather-protected environments, each New Generation Housing undergoes meticulous quality control. This consistency surpasses that of traditional builds, where exposure to environmental conditions and limited oversight can create variability. The result is homes that meet a high standard of quality.
Cost and waste efficiency
Modular construction maximises cost efficiency, reducing waste, optimising resources and keeping costs predictable. Controlled indoor production means fewer materials are lost, stolen, or damaged, enabling high quality control, affordable even amid rising construction costs.
Sustainable building practices with fewer disruptions
Environmentally responsible methods and offsite production reduce the carbon footprint. Shorter onsite assembly times minimise disruption to local communities and ecosystems, resulting in a cleaner, more sustainable building process.
